Why Choose Ben Stout
Founder and President Benjamin Stout graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in business management, but after completing a summer internship in the construction industry for a company based in Fayetteville, realized his passion and came to Fayetteville, excited to enter into the construction field. Stout obtained a real estate broker’s license and went to work representing buyers and sellers in various real estate transactions at the local ERA franchise. Stout was recognized for excellence in dollar volume and the number of units sold.
During the course of Stout’s employment, he began to inquire how homes were built in new construction neighborhoods. He went on to form Benjamin Stout Real Estate Services, Inc., where he began to flip houses while earning his North Carolina General Contractors License, in 2003.
Since obtaining his license, Stout has worked diligently to increase and grow the company, earning his Unlimited License in 2012. The license is the highest level of certification that can be obtained and allows the company to build any size commercial or residential projects.
Projects conducted by Ben Stout Construction range from custom homes and renovations, to commercial up-fits and new buildings. Stout has lived in Fayetteville for over a decade and takes pride in calling Fayetteville home. He strives to deliver an on-time, quality and fairly priced project. He loves seeing the projects improve his community and is excited about what the future holds. Stout serves his community by serving on the Board of Directors for the Fayetteville Association of HomeBuilders, as well as serving on various committees within the organization from 2012 until 2015.
Currently, he serves as the Chairman of the City of Fayetteville Zoning Commission, which allows him to help grow the city in the most responsible manner possible. “Having entered into our 10th year in business we have continued to expand into commercial construction without losing focus on our owner driven, residential projects,” said Stout.
“Thank you for taking the time to find out more about our team. We look forward to working with you on whatever project you may have.”
Christina Kenon – Director of Operations
I attended Methodist University and have a broad and varied background, which has been very beneficial over the years. My professional background consists of construction, real estate law, non-profit work, sales, administration, and I owned a small fitness business for several years.
My experiences and education have helped me in every aspect of my career. I worked in real estate development several years ago and my favorite part of the job was watching a project go from dirt to someone’s dream. It’s extremely rewarding to see an idea go from nothing to something spectacular, and know you played a part in that. When Ben offered me the opportunity to work with him and his team, it was a no brainer for me.
“Fear stifles our thinking and actions. It creates indecisiveness that results in stagnation. I have known talented people who procrastinate indefinitely rather than risk failure. Lost opportunities cause erosion of confidence, and the downward spiral begins.” ~Charles Stanley
Cody “The Outlaw” Sharpless – VP of Residential Construction
Having grown up in a family of master tradesmen, one would say Cody was destined to work in construction from an early age. However, Cody had a greater calling and wanted to serve his country.
After proudly serving eight years in the United States Army here at Ft. Bragg, Cody left the military and worked overseas for a private security company as a Project Manager and Commercial Operations Manager, further honing his leadership and managerial skills.
Upon returning to the United States, he began to pursue a degree in Nuclear Medicine with the goal of becoming a Radiation Therapist. It was during this time when he rediscovered his passion for construction and construction management. Cody strives for perfection and takes pride in every project as if his own home. Calling Fayetteville home with his family, building quality homes in this community is what he loves to do.
If it’s worth doing, it’s worth doing right.
Robert Ivey – Superintendent
I have 35 years of experience in the construction field. My background includes carpentry, masonry, and plumbing.
In my Father’s house are many mansions. If it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you…
Phillip Tillman – Superintendent
Growing up, I had many family members in the construction industry, so I naturally followed their paths. My experience in construction is multifaceted and includes working hands on in a lumber yard, to material sales, to naturally progressing into building houses as a Superintendent.
